2020 Easter Egg Hunt Family Day
Our 2020 Easter Egg hunt is going to be bigger and better than last years! The Easter Bunny has visited Byres Farm and left some eggs. Bring your family and friends round to see if you can find them all on our circular farm walk, enjoying the country air. The Easter Egg trail will lead you through some fields and back to our animal paddock area where we will have a variety of farm animals for you see, including of course some baby lambs! Bring your completed egg hunt sheet back to the check in area and receive your large boxed chocolate egg reward (adults get one too!). Then you can relax and enjoy our enclosed play area, undercover outdoor play area and cart shed. While the kids run around or settle down to a craft table, you can purchase a coffee and home baking from the onsite coffee bar. There is no need to hurry and you can take your time to enjoy the experience. A morning ticket means you must arrive and check in at some point between 9.30am and 12noon, but you can stay as long as you like (until 5pm!). An afternoon ticket means you must check in at some point between 1pm and 3.30pm and again you can stay as long as you like up until 5pm.
It is a farmland walk so wellies or stout footwear is recommended. Unfortunately as the hunt crosses fields and uneven ground it is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs (unless you are feeling strong and like a challenge!)
If any women are pregnant they should also be aware of the risks of being around farm animals, in particular lambs and sheep. Whilst we don’t lamb any sheep on site there will be young lambs within the paddocks and women should be aware of the risks involved and make their own decision as whether to attend this event or not. More information can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/why-should-pregnant-women-avoid-sheep-during-the-lambing-season/
Please note that both adults and children require a ticket.
