Bug Hunt Family Day – Afternoon
May 17, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm£6.5
We are going on a bug hunt! All children will be issued with a bug hunt kit which they can take on the bug hunt and then take home after. Enjoy a family walk looking for bugs with information and bug hunt sites along the way.The walk will take you back to our animal paddocks where you can see the animals and meet the Farmer. Then you can relax and enjoy our enclosed play area, undercover outdoor play area and cart shed. While the kids run around or settle down to a craft table, you can purchase a coffee from the onsite coffee bar. We will also have some local sales tables including Usborne books which stock a wide variety of Bug books! There is no need to hurry and you can take your time to enjoy the experience. A morning ticket means you must arrive and check in at some point between 9.30am and 12noon, but you can stay as long as you like (until 5pm!). An afternoon ticket means you must check in at some point between 1pm and 3.30pm and again you can stay as long as you like up until 5pm.
It is a farmland walk so wellies or stout footwear is recommended. Unfortunately as the hunt crosses fields and uneven ground it is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
If any women are pregnant they should also be aware of the risks of being around farm animals, in particular lambs and sheep. Whilst we don’t lamb any sheep on site there will be young lambs within the paddocks and women should be aware of the risks involved and make their own decision as whether to attend this event or not. More information can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/why-should-pregnant-women-avoid-sheep-during-the-lambing-season/
Please note that both adults and children require a ticket.
