Early Years Mini First Aid Course
February 2 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm£10
Mini First Aid are coming to The Paddocks to talk to us about how grown-ups look after us if we hurt ourselves. It is aimed at children aged 3-6 years and is fun and interactive. We help little ones to understand what is happening to their bodies if they are hurt, where does blood come from, why do you get a lump if you bang your head. We want to help them not be distressed when a carer insists on a cold pack and sitting out of an activity for 10 minutes after a head bump. Children will be using plasters during this session so please also let us know if your child has any allergies to plasters. As part of this we are encouraging the children to learn the first line of their address in case they ever have to call for help. If you can help practice this with your child before the session that would be great. We will also hear a story about a brave accident prone little boy in our Award Winning book the Mini Adventures of Freddie.
The first aid session will be followed by a tour of the animal paddocks and free playtime in our enclosed play area. Snack for the children and tea/ coffee and home bakes will also be provided for the adults.
If any women are pregnant they should also be aware of the risks of being around farm animals, in particular lambs and sheep. Whilst we don’t lamb any sheep on site there will be young lambs within the paddocks and women should be aware of the risks involved and make their own decision as whether to attend this event or not. More information can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/why-should-pregnant-women-avoid-sheep-during-the-lambing-season/
Please note that only children require a ticket, but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult
